Why not take a few minutes and go to the agent's web site and actually READ the submissions guidelines?

: That agent offers some advice about email queries, specifically what to put in the subject line.

: She says she SORTS her MANY email queries by the subject line. Here is her advice:

: GOOD: Query for (TITLE OF YOUR BOOK HERE)

: BETTER: Query for (TITLE OF YOUR BOOK HERE) a novel OR non-fiction

: BEST: Query for (TITLE OF YOUR BOOK HERE) a novel OR non-fiction/category

:
: Bad: A TITLE

: Bad: RE: Query for... (RE: That makes her think it's a reply to a query)

: Worse: Hi or Hello!

: The best approach is, as always, to read the submissions page at the agent's web site. It will usually tell you what to write as the email subject line.
