Yeah, but look at who is number 8 this week. THE ELEVENTH VICTIM by Nancy Grace. Nancy Grace wrote a novel??? A review at the Chicago Sun Times said everything about the book stretches credulity, including the idea that this book would have ever gotten published if she wasn't famous and didn't have a TV show to promote it. Says a lot about what gets published these days and about which books make it to the NYT bestsellers list.

: I was looking at the descriptions of the NYT bestsellers at this site. It looks like there are actually a few pretty good books on the list this week (instead of books by the usual suspects and books about childish vampire or ghost fantasies). For example, SOUTH OF BROAD by Pat Conroy and THAT OLD CAPE MAGIC by Richard Russo. Both good books by serious authors. Amazing such books can still sell enough copies reach the bestsellers list.
