But they will just crank up the propaganda machine and tell the people of China it is the West trying to interfere in China's business.

Think about what would have happened if China would have given an award to the thousands of student leaders in the U.S. who were jailed for refusing to go fight in the Vietnam war. The U.S. government would do the same thing: crank up the propaganda machine.

: Hard to believe they can hold back ALL information about Liu Xiaobo winning the Nobel Peace Prize, especially information like this that instantly travels around the world via the internet.

: In this day and age, I bet the word will eventually get through to the Chinese people.

: : Liu Xiaobo just won Nobel Peace Prize, even though he is still in prison in China for daring to suggest the Chinese people should have democracy. The government of China immediately went to work trying to block all web sites that mention it. They are also blocking all news sites that mention the award, including CNN.

: : To most every American and European, this may sound childish and archaic, but that is the way a totalitarian Communist government works. In China it is against the law to even disagree with the supreme leader.
