You are not alone, Jim. It's baffling to me too. There is something going on that doesn't make any sense at all. The tea party got started while Bush and the Republicans were still in power because a lot of people were mad at them (and Wall Street) for causing the country's terrible economic problems. So they overwhelmingly voted out the Republicans and voted in Obama and the Democrats. Now they are turning around and voting out the Democrats that they just voted in. Now does that make any sense?

: I don't get this election. It seems like the so-called tea party and a lot of others are blaming Obama and the democrats for the country's economic problems and for the resulting bailouts, so they voted against all the democrats in congress and even against democrats at the state and local level. But the economic problems and the bailouts all happened under Bush and the republicans. It was caused by the policies of the republicans in the first place. As a result, I just don't understand why anyone would vote for any republican.

: Can anyone here explain it to me?

: : Bet we get a bunch of books analyzing the 2010 election. Some will say the tea party changed politics, others will say the tea party candidates took votes away from legitimate Republican candidates costing the Republicans some key races.
