: : Why is it you can ALWAYS tell whether a person is right wing or left wing by whether they believe in global warming or not? I mean, are they just trying to agree with their friends? And they always seem to come up with some sort of "scientific" evidence to support their views. What gives?

The best thing about this argument is that we will know within a few years if it is a man-made disaster or just a normal climate cycle. Then those who took such a strong stand will be embarrassed. Or maybe they won't. Actually, it's probably not about being right, but only being on the right side of the argument. I can't imagine why else everybody takes such a heated stance on the issue.
