: : The best book on the 2016 presidential election (by far) is "From Washington and Adams to Trump and Hillary." It not only describes the 2016 presidential election (in detail) but goes through ALL the prior presidential elections to show how we got here. Taught me a lot about how and why the Electoral College was created and how we got into this mess. Highly recommended reading!
: Does it really cover every presidential election?
It does, and it does a great job of telling what really happened in each of them. The book's premise is that in every presidential election there was a story behind the scenes that determined which candidate ended up as president. The book also tells you a lot about the situation the colonies were in during the middle 1700s with a fledgling economy based on cotton and slavery and how that situation led to the American revolution and to the creation of the Constitution and the Electoral College. I think it should be required reading for every student.
