: The best book on the 2016 presidential election (by far) is "From Washington and Adams to Trump and Hillary." It not only describes the 2016 presidential election (in detail) but goes through ALL the prior presidential elections to show how we got here. Taught me a lot about how and why the Electoral College was created and how we got into this mess. Highly recommended reading!

Just read it. Not only the best book on the recent presidential election, but the best book on presidential elections in general. A great survey of ALL presidential elections showing how the electoral college has distorted presidential elections throughout history. And here we are again, with a Hollywood celebrity being elected by the electoral college despite losing the REAL election by more than three million votes. Why can't we do something about this?
