Donald Rumsfeld’s book reveals a lot about how the Bush administration changed America from a country to be respected to a country to be feared.
The only person ever to be Secretary of Defense twice, Rumsfeld brought back the Ronald-era policy of talking louder and carrying a bigger stick than anybody on earth. Bush ran on a platform of rebuilding America's worldwide military dominance that the Republican Party said Clinton had lost by his constant willingness to negotiate instead of "going over there and kicking their asses."
Bush/Rumsfeld/Cheney were far more successful than anyone could have ever imagined: within a few short years they made the world hate us and fostered an international terrorist force against us (thereby justifying the creation and maintenance of a huge military/industrial complex). In his book, Rumsfeld brags about it.
