Daley is gone, but the Democrats are still in control up in Chicago. The new mayor is named Emanuel, an Obama guy. But downstate, the Republicans rule. It will be close.
: Isn't Illinois pretty much controlled by how Chicago votes? At least that's the way it used to be. The famous Mayor Daley's political machine.
: : : I'm reading the most amazing book about the 2012 Presidential election. It's called Obama Will Win, but Romney Will Be President - How the Republicans Will Target Electoral College Votes to Steal the 2012 Presidential Election by Everett Murdock PhD.
: : I got a copy to read on my Ipad. Interesting stuff, all that history. It says my state, Illinois, is going to go for Obama, but I'm not so sure.
: : : There's an add for the book on the FictionWeek main page and I clicked on it. It led me to Amazon.com where I was able to download the book to my computer for only 99 cents. I figured what the heck, 99 cents, but it turned out to be a great book! It's actually a history of ALL the presidential elections and the crazy events that were going on at that time. Lots of amazing stuff about our history that I didn't know.
: : : The book's last chapter makes state by state predictions about what is going to happen in the 2012 Presidential election. I looked at his predictions for my state and some other states I know about and he seems right on. It looks like it's going to be really close in the electoral college, but Romney just might squeak out a win there even if he doesn't win the popular vote. Maybe this book will make people wake up and get rid of the ridiculous electoral college once and for all.
