The story "I Butternut" is a story that is like a poem, while the poem "Remembrance On Independence Day" is a poem that's like a story. It's a sort of poetic memoir, and it immediately drew me in. I really enjoyed reading it.
I also looked up this author on Google. He is a Professor of English at Valparaiso University and editor of that U's literary journal, The Valparaiso Poetry Review. (http://faculty.valpo.edu/ebyrne/homepage/) He is a widely published poet and has won a number of awards.
