Now there's a popular subject - for fiction-writers at least. There is a ton of stuff on the internet about agents, but it's still damn hard for a beginner to break in and actually get an agent. My favorite sites are:
www.agentquery.com (for info about agents and agencies)
http://www.anotherealm.com/prededitors/ (for info on which agents to watch out for)
