: : : There hasn't been a discussion about literary agents on this forum for a while. Anybody got info on who the current best and worst literary agents are?

: : Now there's a popular subject - for fiction-writers at least. There is a ton of stuff on the internet about agents, but it's still damn hard for a beginner to break in and actually get an agent. My favorite sites are:

: : www.agentquery.com (for info about agents and agencies)

: : http://www.anotherealm.com/prededitors/ (for info on which agents to watch out for)

: : Good luck.

: That agentquery site is a good one. At least it tells you which ones are and aren't accepting queries. Many agents aren't even accepting "unsolicited queries" at all anymore.

The problem is the agents are inundated by THOUSANDS of queries every week. Many writers whip out a first draft of their novel and shoot off a query to fifty or sixty agents. That's why the agents are no longer accepting queries.
