The FictionWeek web site is maintained entirely by volunteers. Over the years, several different people have made contributions to the This Week column. There is no resentment over the winners of major book awards, but posters are encouraged to make commentary about trends. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The book award committees, being forced to choose one entry from so many good entries, will naturally try to pick the one that "deserves" it or one that represents a topic that is of interest to the widest possible audience. The term "politically correct" refers to internal politics within selection committees and/or within the larger book reviewers community.

: In the discussion of various prize-winners in This Week at Fiction Week (Nov 30 2016) the phrase "Politically Correct" is used, disparagingly, seventeen times in the writer's interpretations of the judges' motivations.

: As a white male author, I am heartened to see that this sort of attitude remains in play to hopefully give me that winning edge over uppity women and P.O.C.

: As a human person I wonder if the This Week at Fiction Week's writer has considered the possibility that he might be an embittered white dick?

: Alt-write, ha, I made a joke.
