For Immediate Release
With the overwhelming success of last year’s premier Tahoe Big Blue adventure race, Seventh Wave Race Productions has expanded the competition to a four-race series throughout Northern California and Nevada.
The Big Blue Adventure Series will kick off Sunday, June 15 with the Silver Sage Adventure Race in Reno, Nevada. It will be followed with the Red Tail Adventure Race in the San Francisco Bay Area Saturday, July 19, the Ocean Blue Adventure Race in Half Moon Bay, California, Saturday, August 23, and conclude with the original Tahoe Big Blue in Lake Tahoe, California, Saturday, September 13.
Designed for competitors of all levels, the series will include kayaking, mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, map and compass skills and ropes courses. Finish times for all races are expected to range from six to 12 hours.
Participants can race individually or in teams of two, three or four in any combination of same-sex or co-ed. Teams racing in three or more competitions, including the Tahoe Big Blue, will be in the running for the title of Champion of the Big Blue Adventure Series, which is determined on an overall point basis.
Registration fees vary for each race, with discounts for multiple race entries. Fees include welcome party, clinics, t-shirt, racing bib, raffle entry, commemorative gift and finish line barbecue. All racers will have the opportunity to win two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, an Aegean Ocean Kayak and other gear in each race raffle.
